Pfeiffer Vacuum A Passion for Perfection

Rotary Vane Pumps

Rotary Vane Pumps - Pfeiffer Vacuum

Rotary vane pumps for all applications in the low and medium vacuum range

Rotary vane pumps have proven themselves for years in many applications. Coordinated accessories and the selection of ideal equipment make the Pfeiffer Vacuum rotary vane pumps usable for many processes.

The model series for your requirements
With its different model series, Pfeiffer Vacuum offers solutions for many applications. Pumps from the Pascal series are geared towards users who are searching for a good price/performance ratio for simple applications. The DuoLine fulfills all requirements for pumps posed by critical processes. With the HenaLine, high pumping speeds can be provided. The UnoLine Plus pumps are preferably used in drying processes. Their bearing oil supply separated from the process oil guarantees the lifespan of the pumps. The large oil volume and a large oil separator serve to separate process-related condensates and the pump oil. The PentaLine is geared towards users who already want to use highly-efficient pumps with inexpensive operating costs.

The functional principle of the rotary vane pumps
The pump principle of the rotary vane pumps is based on a continual, cyclical change in the suction volume. This is made possible through a rotor eccentrically aligned to the pump housing with movable vanes. The required sealing function is guaranteed through the oil.

The rotary vane pumps are offered in two configurations. Pumps with a single stage pump system (Pascal, HenaLine and UnoLine Plus) cover an inlet pressure range of 1000 to approx. 0.5 mbar; those with a two stage serial pump system (DuoLine, Pascal and PentaLine) have an expanded inlet pressure range in high vacuum of up to 0.005 mbar.

Operating notes on the process adaption
Ideally, the pumps are operated in a process frame between 100 mbar and a pressure of about a decade above the final pressure. Above 100 mbar, the exhaust oil separator elements clog very quickly through the oily exhaust gas stream. In the final pressure range, the strong dependency of the pumping speed on the suction pressure comes to bear. In this state, no stationary process can be operated.

All models have the option of a gas ballast feed in order to avoid collections of liquid through condensing moisture. The usage of gas ballast has different effects on the performance data of the pumps. The obtainable pumping speed, for example, is lowered by the gas ballast proportion in single stage rotary vane pumps. The final pressure also increases as a result. Due to their design, gas ballast has no influence, however, on the pumping speed and final pressure of two stage pumps.
