Micro-Flow and Mass Extraction for precise testing

Our leak detectors with the innovative Micro-Flow technology are unique in the industry. The Micro-Flow technology as well as Mass Extraction, as a special form of the Micro-Flow technology, bring several benefits especially in comparison to other air leak testing technologies. The main advantages thereby are the speed of test and the low susceptibility against environmental changes. Furthermore, it has higher sensitivity and accuracy. Both methods are non destructive and give a quantitative test result. Daily calibration is not required. Pfeiffer offers compact, user-friendly and highly sensitive solutions for leak testing with air.

The Mass Extraction technique is a special way of using the Micro-flow sensor. The basic principle is based on a rarefied gas flow approach. In order to achieve a higher sensitivity, the test is performed under vacuum. With this approach a sensitivity of up to 6.7 · 10-7 mbar · l/s can be realized. This approach is particularly applicable for sealed packages, e.g. pharmaceutical CCI testing.

In addition, the accuracy of the tester must be optimized in the flow range of the leak specification. The E-PDQ meets these requirements perfectly. It is fast, repeatable, has a high throughput, and is a perfect fit for leak testing consumer electronics and small medical products. It is available as EQ version for pressure applications and as MQ version for vacuum applications.
