Relationship agreement with the Busch Group

By signing the relationship agreement between Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG and Busch SE in 2019, we laid the foundation for our strategic cooperation with the Busch Group.

Committees with members from the relevant specialist departments of both companies were formed for all areas in which cooperation is planned - research & development, service, IT, sales, purchasing, compliance and risk management.

These committees are now developing processes for exploiting synergies in the various areas.

Cooperation with customers

In order to be close to the needs of our customers, we closely collaborate with them.

The goal: To learn directly from the customers about their requirements for vacuum solutions to match their future applications.

Organization

The introduction of the new management structure in the Management Board in 2019 was an important step in aligning Pfeiffer Vacuum's organizational structure with the requirements of the future - global thinking and action is the key to this.

This led to the creation of the functional areas CSO, CTO, COO and CFO.

This allowed us to achieve the following:

  • The decoupling of functions, units and products with the aim of creating a fully integrated and process-oriented organization
  • The establishment of a global, company-wide network of experts

Focus on China
Measures in an overview

The expansion of our production site in China is part of one of the main pillars of our growth strategy.

In addition to providing after-sales service, the larger facility now also enables us to manufacture dry pumps and our new ATC leak detection systems, as well as to assemble pumping stations. With the introduction of industry-leading technologies, we can now respond even better to the needs of local customers.

Digitalization

This is also true for our product portfolio of tomorrow, where integration, innovation and digitalization will be key.

The most important factor for the success of our company is our customers’ satisfaction.

This is why we set the highest standards for our products: continuing to develop our product portfolio, anticipating the challenges of tomorrow and developing suitable solutions for future vacuum applications are key focuses of our vision for our service portfolio.

Group-wide standards

The goal of the group-wide standardized IT structure: Simplifying our business processes by integrating standardized systems, process excellence and digitalization.

A global team is now working flat out to implement the next milestones.

Kick-off for OneERP

The goal: to establish a global ERP system at all Pfeiffer Vacuum Group locations.

This enables us to achieve end-to-end digital integration from the supplier to the customer. The roll-out of the standardized ERP system will be carried out gradually at the various sites over a period of several years to ensure efficient and sustainable implementation.

50 pumps for customers in endurance test

The test pumps were were custom-designed SplitFlow turbopumps, which were developed together with the customer for a very challenging application.

The purpose of the test was to avoid or minimize the risk of failure in the field. It marked the successful completion of a complex, multi-year development project. The ramp-up phase on the customer side started in mid-2019: the pump is used in a high-end mass spectrometer in the upper performance range.

Always close to the customer

One of the most important focuses of our growth strategy is also the geographical proximity to our customers: only through short distances and fast response times, can we offer our customers the first-class complete solutions that we stand for, from specification to service.

This is why we establish Pfeiffer Vacuum's presence closer to the major customers, set up local supply chains and thus support our customers as a supplier in their local markets. With the modernization, expansion and reorganization of our production sites in Romania and China and our service center in Nashua, USA, we have already achieved great successes in recent years.
