Air Leak Detectors

Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions offers compact, user-friendly, and highly sensitive solutions for leak testing with air. Whether semiconductor components, automotive parts, or pharmaceutical products, our air series presents leading solutions to detect leaks across various industries. High sensitivity, resolution accuracy and sensors that can compensate for temperature fluctuations enable efficient leak testing with short cycle times.
The innovative Micro-Flow technology and Mass Extraction method used in the Pfeiffer air series present several advantages over other methods of air leak testing. The Micro-Flow sensor delivers rapid testing speeds and low susceptibility to environmental changes, as well as higher sensitivity and accuracy. Both Micro-Flow and Mass Extraction are non-destructive, provide quantitative test results, and do not require daily calibration.
E-PDQ

Benefits of the E-PDQ leak detector
The E-PDQ has been designed for system integration. It offers fast and repeatable measurements, has a high throughput, and is a perfect fit for leak testing consumer electronics and small medical products, such as surgical drains. It is typically used in applications in which the required cycle rate is very high. There are two versions available: the EQ for pressure applications and the MQ version for vacuum applications.
EQ
The EQ leak detector operates using Micro-Flow technology to detect leaks in small components under pressure, such as valves for HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), medical equipment and handheld electronics.
MQ
The MQ leak detector operates using the Mass Extraction method, making it ideal for leak testing small components under vacuum, such as medical packaging.E2 and VE2

- High sensitivity
- Automated test circuit with pressure balance and quick filling and evacuation
- User-friendly operator interface
- Remote interface via LAN connection
Benefits of the E2 and VE2 leak detectors
The E2 and VE2 leak detectors use our unique Micro-Flow technology, enabling short cycle times and stable temperatures during testing, as well as higher sensitivity and repeatability compared to other air leak test methods. They are suitable for medium-size products.
While other leak detectors are especially suitable for system integration, the E2 and VE2 are designed for stand-alone operation. Users can navigate settings and set up tests via a color touch screen, which can display a real-time graph during operation for easy reference. The Ethernet port allows the leak detectors to be connected to a LAN, giving the operator the option of assigning a dynamic or static IP address. This provides access to a remote interface, making operation even simpler.
E2
The E2 air leak detector operates using our Micro-Flow technology for applications under pressure. Compared to detecting leaks via pressure decay, the E2 gives results 25-40 % faster. It can be used in rugged industrial applications, such as testing brakes and fuel parts in the automotive industry. Alternatively, the E2 can be equipped with an optional stainless-steel housing for cleanrooms and aseptic environments to test medical equipment such as surgical drains. The stainless steel allows for easy cleaning and disinfection as it is corrosion-resistant and there are no pores or cracks where dirt or bacteria can hide.
VE2
The VE2 air leak detector is a high-sensitivity Mass Extraction instrument that has been designed for leak testing under vacuum. It can handle medium-size parts with a leak tightness from 1 · 10-4 sccs with air.The VE2 can be used to detect leaks in a variety of industrial applications, such as electronics, as well as in cleanrooms and sterile settings, for which an optional stainless-steel housing is available.
SpeedAir 3050

- Non-destructive testing for CCIT
- Replacement for blue dye ingress
- Robust and deterministic
- High sensitivity for liquid-filled containers
Benefits of the SpeedAir Mass Extraction leak detector
The SpeedAir 3050 from Pfeiffer utilizes Mass Extraction technology and is your all-in-one solution for CCIT (container closure integrity technology) to test for leaks in nonporous pharmaceutical products, such as syringes, IV (intravenous) bags and vials. Whether your products are flexible or rigid, liquid or solid, the SpeedAir can swiftly and accurately test them all. For liquid products, the SpeedAir is the most sensitive air-based technology currently available on the market.
Testing times are as short as 30 to 45 seconds, delivering quick results that ensure the integrity of the containers. Unlike alternative methods that focus on specific areas or access points, the SpeedAir 3050 provides a comprehensive global non-destructive testing (NDT) approach for your containers. The software complies with both CFR21 part 11 and USP 1207 for CCIT.
