Pfeiffer Vacuum supplies Roots pumping stations which combine Roots pumps with oil-lubricated rotary vane pumps. These pumping stations provide low end pressures coupled with high pumping speeds.

Combining a rotary vane pump with a roots pump to make a pumping station is the classic solution for achieving fast pump-down of vacuum chambers and for conveying process gas flows under medium and high vacuum.

For many industrial processes, the use of oil-sealed backing pumps is still the best option as it presents the most rugged and cost-effective solution, both in terms of the purchase price as well as the lifetime costs.
